So ~karkarodon emailed me asking me if I could squeeze in another postcard for the burlesque troupe he works with ( Hotsy Totsy: [link] ) to promote one of their upcoming shows. After the last one I did for him, I figured this wouldn't take too long. Especially since it was just gonna be postcard size.

Boy was I wrong.

I knew right off that I wasn't going to have to focus too hard on details due to the print size, but once I got to coloring it I wanted to do more ( moar moar moar! ). So I started piecing together some stuff to make it resemble an old comic cover while I was coloring. I emailed Joe at the halfway point to let him know why it was taking longer than expected, but he didn't care. He was diggin the idea.

To explain some of the cover stuff...

BOA is a bar in NY where the troupe had performed before. BOA is The Bar On A.

800 cents cover price because the tickets to the show are 8 bucks.

Issue # 69? I'm a dirty old man, it should be self explanatory.

And that's it. Was a fun way to kill time while waiting on pages today. Don't tell Dan, but I was coloring another pic of Dan's when I got this. I'll see if I can't find some time to finish up that other one sometime Sunday.

nice colors. and I love how you made it look like a comic cover. How do you do the Benday Dots in the background? I really want to learn how to do those.
